Johanne’s interest in images began by doing photography. She studied Contemporary Art at the "Ecole du Louvre" in Paris where she graduated with a B.A followed by the University Paris-Sorbonne where she obtained an M.A.: Anselm Kiefer, Ways of Memory. She completed her education at the Ecole Louis Lumière specializing in cinematography. Johanne began her career in films and commercials as a camera assistant to many renowned cinematographers and directors, most notably Darius Khondji with whom she worked for over 10 years owning her craft. Since 2001 Johanne has worked as a cinematographer on numerous commercials, music videos and feature films. She recently shot second unit cinematography for the 2011 Cannes Festival opener, Woody Allen’s “Midnight in Paris”. Her feminine sensibility makes her one of the top beauty film cinematographers today. Her long list of clients includes Roberto Cavalli, L’Oreal, Braun, Dove, Lancôme, Maybelline, Kenzo, Shiseido, Capivit and many more.
